As a new step forward in the Activities of InSDES, a FIVE DAYS INTERNSHIP ON POWER GENERATION, TRANSMISSION & DISTRIBUTION was conducted for the students of M. DASAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, ULLI YERI, KOZHIKODE, from 16th to 20th Nov. 2022. Sixteen students in the 5th semester of the Electrical & Electronics Department participated in the Programme. The internship was arranged as a fully residential programme, and the whole batch ( 4 girls and 12 boys) was accommodated on the InSDES campus. Sessions of the Programme were finalised in consultation with the Head of the Department of Electrical & Electronics, M-DIT, Dr. O. Asokan, to meet the requirement as per the curriculum. Apart from Generation, Transmission & Distribution, sessions on the Indian Power sector, Renewable Energy, E-mobility & E-cooking, Smart grid, Electrical safety and Energy conservation, Employment opportunities in the Electrical field and How to face an Interview were also included in the Programme. Field visits to the 220kV Sub station, Transformers Repair Unit, Meter testing lab, Solar power project, Wind power project and Small Hydro Power project were also included in the programme. The Five days programme was concluded on 20th Nov. with a valedictory session.
